HAI-Global Emergency Fund supported distribution of dry food and essential non-food items to flood-affected older-person-headed families across multiple districts.
HASL implemented flood-response activities funded by HelpAge International’s Global Emergency Fund. One GEF project (Project 01) ran June–September 2024 distributing dry food packs and non-food packs (e.g., rice, dhal, hygiene items, buckets, soap, sarongs) to 1,167 families across Western, Gampaha, Southern and Matara districts (detailed distribution tables provided in the report). The report references two GEF projects with combined support reaching a larger total (1,967 families referenced in summary sections). Dry food pack contents and district-level distribution breakdowns are included in the Annual Report. These interventions targeted households headed by older persons and aimed to meet immediate needs after flooding.
