The HelpAge Eye Hospital (established as a full hospital in 2009) celebrated reaching the 50,000+ free cataract surgeries milestone during the year under review (milestone event July 2024). By the end of FY 2025/26 the report records 52,249 cataract surgeries performed since inception. The hospital operates free surgery slots Monday–Thursday (up to 20 free cataract surgeries per day reported) and a clinic day on Friday. The Annual Report notes purchase of a new phacoemulsification machine (2 Aug 2024) and a visiting consultant ophthalmologist (Prof. Harminder Singh Dua, 3 Feb 2025). Total cash + in-kind donations to the Eye Hospital for FY 2025/26 are reported as Rs. 1,939,793. The milestone event included dignitaries (Minister of Health and HASL leadership) and extensive media coverage.
